Young Professionals to Watch Panel
Colin Ferro, Epic Experience (Moderator)
Colin is the Executive Director of the Arvada based non profit, Epic Experience. Colin is passionate about the mission of empowering adult cancer survivors and thrivers to live beyond cancer with his work at Epic Experience. Colin has been a dedicated collaborator, volunteer and member of the Arvada Chamber for over 8 years. Colin is dedicated to being a man for others and living a life of service, his passion is coaching which is a big part of what he does through Epic Experience adventure camps.
Colin has been a consistent member of the Arvada Young Professionals as well as a member of their leadership team for over 6 years. As someone who lives and works in Arvada, he is committed to ensuring he is doing his part to support all of those who make Arvada such a great place to live, work and play.
Michael Yocum, Yocum Tech
Michael Yocum is the Founder of Yocumtech a technology services company that provides technology planning and support for small to large companies. In addition to serving on several local boards he is constantly working on what companies need and how changing conditions both socially and technologically effect day to day buisness.
Helen Wolfe, Allison Pointe Apartments
Helen Wolfe has a diverse background and a deep commitment to education, community service, and affordable housing. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in music and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Ave Maria University, reflecting her unique blend of creativity and business acumen. Helen's passion for service led her to dedicate a year with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps Northwest, an AmeriCorps organization, where she served as an elementary school teacher in Oregon. This experience allowed her to develop essential teaching and community-building skills. With several years of experience in the housing sector, Helen has excelled in her role as a community manager at Allison Pointe Apartments in Arvada, an affordable housing community. Her dedication to providing quality housing solutions for her community is evident in her work. Beyond her professional endeavors, Helen finds joy in spending quality time with her husband, son, and their beloved mini dachshund. Helen is deeply engaged in her local community, actively participating in local programs and volunteering efforts.
Joanna Sorensen, Hope House Colorado
Joanna completed both her undergraduate and graduate degree at the University of Northern Colorado. Between her undergraduate and graduate work, Joanna traveled the world partnering with local organizations across eastern Asia, eastern Europe, and southern Africa; her work included teaching English as a Second Language, manual labor, and work centered around female empowerment. Joanna also began her career during this time, teaching English and English as a Second Language for grades 10-12 at Greeley West High School, teaching a total of 10 different classes for both native and non-native English speaking students. Joanna transitioned from teaching back into the non-profit world in May 2022, when she began working as Hope House Colorado's first full-time Grant Development Officer. In her first year at Hope House, Joanna applied for more than $1.5 million in grants, became an active member of the Arvada Chamber of Commerce, and received several accolades for her work.
Dylan Westfall, Footers Catering
After getting his hospitality degree, Chef Dylan moved to Colorado and started at Footers Catering as an intern in culinary school and over the span of 7 years he has worked his way up to Chef de Cuisine. He designs the extensive food menu and beverage program, leads their team of tasting chefs, and is part of a team focused on creating the awesome company culture that Footers is known for. The only thing more important to him than his passion for food is his belief that if you’re not having fun in the process then what’s the point?
